Hughes Off To St. Louis To See Circulatory Specialist

Just as the Yankees had figured with there young prospect Phil Hughes, something was wrong. After being placed on the DL and undergoing approximately 10 hours of testing in the past two days, doctors had discovered that there was a low risk of a circulatory problem. Joe Girardi didn’t want to take any chances, so he’s sending his young 24 year old pitcher to St. Louis to see Dr. William Thompson where he will undergo more tests.

If nothing more shows up on those tests, Hughes might see a decrease in his innings limit, something Girardi says might have been the problem for the 18 game winning pitcher.
